The AAII Northern New Jersey Chapter presents...
Investment Outlook for 2010: Making Money Within the Confines of a Lost Decade
Discussed by:
Sam Stovall
Chief Investment Officer, Standard and Poor’s Equity Research Services
In late 2008, the Standard and Poor’s 500 index posted its first rolling 10-year price decline since the 19966–1982 period, in which the DJIA continually flirted with the 1000 level. During that stretch, investors had to endure five bear markets and four cyclical bull markets before starting a new secular bull run. What are the investment prospects for 2010? Can we still make money within the confines of a lost decade? Which sectors are the most favorable? What is the outlook for the global economy? Mr. Stovall has spoken to our Chapter several times and is returning by popular request. He will be a featured speaker at the AAII Investor Conference in Orlando, Florida, November 12–14, 2009.
