AAII Terms of Use & Conditions of Sale

Please read our Terms of Use carefully before becoming a member of the American Association of Individual Investors.

The American Association of Individual Investors (AAII) assists individuals in becoming effective managers of their assets through programs of education, information and research (collectively, the “Services”).

1. Agreement

By using the Services, you’re agreeing to pay the applicable subscription fee and to comply with the Terms of Use. Current subscription rates for the Service can be found on its offer pages, although AAII regularly tests different prices for effectiveness. Your continued use of AAII and its Services means that you accept any new or modified terms and conditions.

AAII reserves the right to refuse or discontinue the supply of a Service to any user at any time at AAII’s sole discretion. AAII reserves the right, in our sole discretion, to change or modify the fees, charges or other conditions for use of Services upon reasonable notice to you.

2. Account Registration

In order to gain digital access to the Service, you must register for an account through AAII.com by submitting a valid email address and choosing a password, which you’ll need to access the Service.

You can update your account settings, including your email address, by going to the My Account section of AAII.com.

3. Premium Services

When subscribing to a premium Service such as one of AAII’s newsletters (AAII Dividend Investing, AAII Growth Investing, AAII Retirement Investing, Stock Superstars Report or VMQ Stocks) or research tools (A+ Investor or Stock Investor Pro), you will need to provide AAII with your name, email address, and billing and shipping addresses, as well as your credit card information. You agree to pay the applicable subscription fee as set forth on the AAII website. Sales taxes may be charged in addition to the subscription fee, depending on your location. By placing your order, you provide your electronic authorization for future charges against your credit card on file unless you cancel.

Subscription services are generally delivered via email, including portfolio alerts, commentary, and other important news and education.

4. Trial Terms and Subscription Renewal

Some Services may provide a trial or introductory offer at a price much lower than the standard rate. Upon signing up for a trial, you will have access to the Service for the promotional trial period. If you don’t cancel your subscription within the trial offer period, the primary credit card you provided during the sign-up process will be charged the standard rate for the balance of the new subscription period.

Your subscription will automatically renew at the then-current rate at the end of the subscription term, until you notify us of your decision to terminate your subscription. For subscription terms longer than three months, we will email you about the renewal before your credit card is charged. Accordingly, you agree that your membership fee or subscription will be billed automatically at the beginning of each renewal period at the then-current rate (plus sales tax, if applicable) to the credit card you used in your most recent transaction with us.

If you are a current multiyear plan member or subscriber with a renewal date of April 15, 2025, or later, you will be automatically renewed into the equivalent yearly plan at a discounted rate for the first year as communicated prior to such renewal and thereafter at the then-current yearly membership or subscription plan rate for any subsequent years.

If you have any questions, please contact our Member Services department using the details below.

5. Subscription Cancellation

Different Services have different refund policies (including some that offer no refunds). If you are unsure of your cancellation rights, please contact AAII Member Services by emailing members@aaii.com or by phone at 312-676-4307 from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central Time.

For Services that renew, AAII distinguishes between Trial Offers, Standard Membership Non-Trial Offers, as well as Standard Subscription Non-Trial Offers.

Trial Offer

A subscriber may cancel a subscription to a trial at any time during the trial period itself. If a credit card on file has been charged for a trial subscription, the subscriber has up to 30 days after the credit card on file has been charged to cancel the new subscription and get a full refund.

Standard Membership Non-Trial Offer

For AAII Memberships purchased at a non-trial rate, members have up to 30 days from the original purchase date to cancel for a full refund. After the 30-day refund period, the cancellation will be effective at the end of the applicable membership period during which you notify us of cancellation. If you cancel your membership, you will still have access to the services for the remainder of time you have already paid for, but you will not receive a refund.

Standard Subscription Non-Trial Offer

For premium subscriptions (AAII Platinum, A+ Investor, AAII Dividend Investing, AAII Growth Investing, AAII Retirement Investing, Stock Superstars Report or VMQ Stocks) purchased at a non-trial rate, subscribers have up to 30 days from original purchase date to cancel for a full refund. After the 30-day refund period, the cancellation will be effective at the end of the applicable subscription period during which you notify us of cancellation. If you cancel your subscription, you will still have access to the services for the remainder of time you have already paid for, but you will not receive a refund.

If your purchase qualifies for cancellation, you may cancel your subscription to the Service at any time and not be billed by notifying AAII Member Services by phone at 312-676-4307 from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central Time, or by emailing Member Services at members@aaii.com.

You may not purchase additional trials for a specific product in the future if you’ve bought a trial in the past.

Members may receive one refund per product, per member, per 12-month period. Additional refunds may be granted at our discretion in cases of technical errors or extenuating circumstances.
